What is Remedy?

Calvary Chapel of Tracy’s venue for teens & pre-teens to learn about Christ Jesus, grow in a relationship with Him and with others who are seeking after Him.

Who belongs to Remedy?

            * Teens & pre-teens who have yet to have a relationship with Christ

            * Teens & pre-teens who do have a relationship with Christ

            * Teens & pre-teens who want to grow in their relationship with Christ

            * Adults who are led by God to serve and lift-up the youth, to see them live for Christ.

What Remedy believes:

The Bible is the written word of God and as such is fact.  That Christ Jesus is alive today after dying on the cross as the sacrifice that atoned for all of humanities’ sin past, present, and future, because He is who He claimed to be, the Son of God.  There are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who make up the triune God. The only way to have a true relationship with God is to first accept and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior by confessing and repenting of your sins and to obey God’s Word and live the life God has called you to. See also Calvary Chapel Tracy Statement of Faith.

What is Remedy’s verse?

I Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

Long Term Goal/ Vision for Remedy:

For teens & pre-teens to mature in their relationship with Christ, while being equipped so they confidently share Christ with others, and continue to do when they move out their guardian’s home.

Why?

It is our way to truly worship the Lord and follow Christ. Followers of Christ are commanded by Him to make disciples and teach all people (Matthew 28:18-20). Other references: Rom. 12:1,2; 6:3,4, Eph 4:1, Phil. 2:12-18, I Peter 2:5

Many Christian teens stumble and flounder when they first leave the home from not learning to use their spiritual muscles or not being challenged to continue. Remedy’s objective is to stem the tide and let Christ change lives. I Cor. 15:33, Matt. 13:18-23, Eph 4:23, I Cor. 15, Titus 3:8, Eph 5:10,17, Col. 1:9

Other realizations of Remedy:

Our ministry is a sub-parent/sub-guardian ministry.  We do not replace the parents, rather than supplanting we supplement the parental role. The parental role for the age range of our kids is spiritual direction, physical well-being, mental education, and preparation for the adult life. We are to come along side the parents to help where we may, paying particular attention to spiritual direction so that they may prosper spiritually into adulthood.

Our ministry complements and is under Calvary Chapel Tracy’s ministry; as such it must work in harmony within that body, under the care of pastor Rob.  We are in effect an extension of his ministry.
